The second edition of Exercise Veer Guardian 2026, a bilateral air exercise between the Indian Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force, began at Air Force Station Jodhpur.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) launched Ocean Research Vessel Sagar Manthan at its Rishi Bankim Shipyard in Kolkata.
The vessel has been designed and built indigenously for the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) under India’s Deep Ocean Mission.
Tata Advanced Systems Emerges L1 for Zorawar Light Tank Programme
Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) emerged as the L1 bidder for the Indian Army’s approximately ₹20,000 crore Zorawar light tank programme under the Make-I route.
The Zorawar light tank has been developed by DRDO’s Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE) with Larsen & Toubro as the prototype development partner.

Google DeepMind Releases AlphaGenome Atlas
Google DeepMind released the AlphaGenome Atlas, an open-access resource designed to help researchers understand the potential effects of genetic variants across the human genome.
The resource provides predictions for approximately 9 billion possible single-nucleotide variants and includes a unified AlphaGenome Variant Impact score.
The development can support research into how genetic variations influence biological processes and disease.
Akasa Air and BPCL Conduct SAF-Blended Flight
Akasa Air and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) operated a flight using a 1% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend on the Mumbai–Goa route.
The initiative is part of India’s broader efforts to promote sustainable aviation and reduce the carbon intensity of air transport.
India’s indicative SAF blending targets are 1% by 2027 and 5% by 2030 for international departures.

Tripura Records Zero Primary-Level Dropout Rate
Tripura recorded a zero per cent dropout rate at the primary level during 2025–26, according to UDISE+ data.
The state also recorded a significant decline in the secondary-level dropout rate compared with the 2013–14 period.
